Daesh (ISIS) has abducted 111 kids from the northern city of Mosul and transferred them to the group's educational and military centers for brainwashing, a media report said Tuesday.

Iraq's Arabic news channel Al Sumaria quoted Saeed Mamuzini, spokesman for the Kurdistan Democrat Party, as saying the children ranged from ages 10-15.

The official said Daesh also arrested 78 men who protested their children's abduction.

The city of Mosul was captured by the extremist group over a year ago. Since then abductions for the use of child soldiers in Mosul have totaled 1,420, Mamuzini said.

The militants released a video in March of a child soldier executing an alleged Israeli spy, the first use of children conducting the killings in its footage. In June Daesh uploaded a video of child soldier cage fights.
