Cyprus has strongly protested to the United Nations the violations of its air space by Turkish military jets over the past couple of months, saying this practice ought to come to an end.
According to the official Cyprus News Agency on Friday, Turkish aircraft entered Cyprus' air space or FIR (Flight Information Region) Nicosia in no less than nine times in March and on eight different occasions in April, a letter by Cyprus' permanent representative to the UN, Ambassador Sotos Zakheos, said.
