Cyprus Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides said he considered his meetings this week in Paris very important, as intensive efforts to reach a solution on the Cyprus problem continue and the island's accession course to the European Union is progressing.

Kasoulides is visiting the French capital between October 28 and 31 for meetings with French Foreign Minister Dominique de Villepin, Minister Delegate for European Affairs Noelle Lenoir and members of the Committee on Foreign Affairs at the French National Assembly and Senate and their delegations to the European Union (EU).

"I consider my meetings in Paris with the French government, the Senate and the National Assembly very important," Kasoulides told Cyprus News Agency, emphasizing that Paris plays an important role as a member of the EU as well as a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council.
