The stakes are high for the upcoming final round of the LG SolarDOM Regional Cooking Competition as contestants from Middle East and Africa will renew their quest to become the overall winner of the prestigious contest.
The final will be held in the Al Badr Ballroom of Dubai’s Shangrila Hotel on Thursday, November 30th. Under the watchful eyes of a high-profile panel of judges, including well-known chef Stephano, over 19 finalists short-listed from previous editions held in Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Iran and South Africa will seek to showcase their talent by whipping up enticing combinations of starters, soups and main course meals.
“The LG SolarDOM Regional Cooking Competition is all about good food and people who take great pride in their cooking skills while having fun in creating recipe masterpieces,” said Mr. K.W. Kim, President, LG Electronics, Middle East and Africa. “The preliminary rounds have revealed some great talent and I am sure each of the contestants is determined to take home the crown in the final.”
The LG SolarDOM Regional Cooking Competition is one of the highly anticipated culinary events of the region and has attracted an overwhelming response in the previous editions. The event is divided into two broad categories - individual and team. Judges will select the winners on the basis of cooking style, presentation and
LG is generously offering a host of exciting prizes to both participants as well as spectators. In the Team category, the winner will receive US$3,000 in cash which the runner-up will receive US$2,000.
In the Individual category, the winner will get US$2,000, first runner-up US$1,000 and the second runner-up US$500. A raffle draw to be held towards the end of the event will see three spectators taking home an LG SolarDOM microwave oven each.
