Cisco Systems will showcase its Multilayer Storage Networking (SAN) Solutions at Storage World Middle East 2005, a dedicated data storage solutions exhibition, which will be held at Al Bustan Rotana Hotel, Dubai, from May 29 to 31, 2005.

Cisco Systems’ participation at the event comes at the heels of a recent industry report from Dell'Oro Group which shows that Cisco Systems’ market share in Modular/Director Switching has risen to a strong number two position after the company has gained sequential market share in the Total SAN Switch market and both the Modular/Director and Fixed/Fabric market segments. According to the report that covers the first quarter of 2005, Cisco Systems has gained 7.6 market share points in Total SAN Switching market year over year.
Commenting on Cisco Systems’ participation in the event, Ghazi Atallah, General Manager, Cisco Systems, Middle East, said: “Enterprise storage networking infrastructures are evolving rapidly in order to increase agility to support changing business priorities, application requirements and revenue growth. Cisco Systems is uniquely positioned to provide IT managers with an enterprise-wide approach to deploying scalable and easily administered storage networking infrastructures that meet all their requirements and give complete control to organisation for managing business growth."

"Our customers are already taking a phased approach to implementing an Intelligent Information Network by converging and consolidating their IT assets so that resource sharing takes place, giving them a better return on investment and lowering total cost of ownership through virtualization of assets and application optimization," Atallah concluded.
During Storage World 2005, Atallah will participate in a panel session on storage networking technologies on May 30, 2005, while Emmanuel Schupp, Market Development Manager, Data Centre Solution, Cisco Systems, will be presenting on 'Intelligence in the Data Centre Network’ on May 31, 2005.
"Cisco's Storage Area Networking solutions provide universal access to storage over Internet Protocol (IP) networks and fit seamlessly into existing storage and data networks. Cisco's storage area solutions also provide extensive security capabilities that are critical for controlled access to valuable storage resources and ensures optimal performance and reliability for the IP network and storage," Atallah added.
Storage World Middle East 2005 is the region's leading director-level data storage conference, where one can get all the information and knowledge needed to develop a world-class storage strategy for an organization. The event offers a unique opportunity to get a complete and up-to-date picture on the developments in the Middle East storage industry.
