Chinese President Xi Jinping arrives in Vietnam

ALBAWABA - Chinese President Xi Jinping received a warm welcome from Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh amid his arrival in Hanoi, Vietnam to meet with his Vietnamese counterpart  Nguyen Phu Trong on Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2023. 

According to Time Magazine, this is the first time Xi Jinping has visited Vietnam in six years which makes his recent visit to the country special and important to further strengthen the ties between the two countries. 

Xi Jinping describes his relationship with  Nguyen Phu Trong as one between "comrades and brothers", the two countries "connected by mountains and rivers, as close as lips and teeth", as stated by the BBC.
