China, Egypt discuss military cooperation

Chinese Minister of National Defense Gangchuan Cao discussed Sunday military cooperation with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak.

A source close to the Egyptian president told <i>KUNA</i> that Minister of Defense and Military Production Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi attended the meeting and discussed current events in the Middle East and the Chinese role in the region.

Cao and Tantawi discussed recent international developments and future plans for army cooperation between China and Egypt. Tantawi had visited Beijing in September 2004.
