ALBAWABA - A Spanish court announced Thursday that it would launch an investigation into Catalan separatist leader Carles Puigdemont on "terrorism" accusations stemming from protests related to the failed 2017 Catalan independence campaign.
In a statement, the court said it had decided "to investigate and, where appropriate, prosecute" Puigdemont "for terrorism offences in relation to the Democratic Tsunami case", referring to a secretive Catalan protest group involved in blockading Barcelona airport in late 2019.
