A Russian military helicopter with five people on board has been shot down in Syria’s Idlib Province, the Russian Defense Ministry says.

The ministry was quoted as saying that three crew members and two officers had been on board and that it was trying to ascertain their fate.

The copter was shot down after delivering humanitarian aid to the city of Aleppo and as it was making its way back to Russia’s main air base in Syria, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
