InterContinental Hotels Group, the world’s most global hotel company, today announced it has appointed Lebanese Canadian Antoine Naoum as the general manager of the recently opened 135-room Holiday Inn Kuwait.
With more than 25 years experience in the hospitality industry, Naoum – who is fluent in English, French, Italian and Arabic and is capable in Greek and Spanish – will bring to the role more than 5 years at the helm of Kuwait-based properties.
Central to his role will be promoting the property as a mid-tier hotel – ideal for holidaymakers and business travellers. Located 200 meters from the sea and 22km from Kuwait International Airport, the Holiday Inn Kuwait boasts an outdoor swimming pool, 24-huor gym and a range of restaurants including Lebanese and Chinese.
“It is wonderful to be in charge of InterContinental Hotel Group’s second property in Kuwait and to be responsible for introducing the Holiday Inn brand to the people of Kuwait,” said Naoum.
Having studied hotel management in Italy and Lebanon, Naoum is recognized by his peers as a seasoned professional who is well qualified to meet the expectations set by the InterContinental Hotels Group. Speaking about Naoum’s appointment, Chris Moloney, Chief Operating Officer, InterContinental Hotels Group Middle East and Africa, said: “InterContinental Hotels Group now has 16 Holiday Inn properties in the Middle East and we are pleased to have someone such as Antoine managing our newest property.”
Committed to the country’s business community, Naoum has been a long-term member of the Canadian Businessman’s Gathering in Kuwait and currently is the deputy-chairman of the board. “I have really enjoyed the previous five years managing properties in Kuwait. It is with great excitement that I have taken on this role to guide the team at the Holiday Inn Kuwait through the initial opening phase,” said Naoum.
