A bomb threat on EgyptAir’s Munich-Cairo route delayed a flight for six hours on Saturday, according to the Cairo-based Al Messa newspaper.

Flight 776 to Cairo was about to take off when EgyptAir received a telephone call from an unknown party claiming a bomb was on board.

EgyptAir’s office manager informed Munich airport authorities of the threat, leading to the evacuation of the 229 passengers and six-member crew.

The plane, including the passengers’ luggage and cargo, was inspected by German security authorities using police dogs and modern equipment. No explosives were detected – Albawaba.com
