A small bomb exploded in a garbage truck collecting refuse early Wednesday in the Talpiot industrial area, south Jerusalem, but there were no injuries reported, accoridng to Haaretz newspaper.
Jerusalem District Police Commander Miki Levy said that the bomb was “set either by terrorists or criminals.”
"From the evidence at the site, we are speaking of a very small bomb, that may have been a criminal act" or an attempted terror attack, he was quoted as telling the army Radio.
Israeli police remain at "maximal alert" for bombs, in the wake of Netanya’s blast on Sunday that killed three Israelis and wounded scores more, said the paper.
Israel Radio reported that the alert status Wednesday was especially apparent in heavy police presence in the northern cities of Haifa and Hadera – Albawaba.com
