Two U.S. troops were killed and four wounded in an ambush on Thursday in a Baghdad neighborhood, the U.S. military said Friday.
The troops were on a routine patrol when the ambush took place about 8 p.m. Thursday, the military said.
Commenting on the ongoing violence, L. Paul Bremer, the top U.S. official in Iraq, emphasized his government's commitment to fighting "terrorism," branding the perpetrators of attacks in Iraq as individuals who have shown "wanton disregard" for the lives of innocent people, The AP reported.
