Blast kills Balkh governor in Afghanistan

ALBAWABA - The governor Afghanistan's northern Balkh province was killed in an explosion, media outlets reported.

A handful of people were also killed in the blast Thursday morning inside the office of the governor, Mohammad Daud Muzamil.

It was not immediately clear what caused the explosion in Balkh, one of Afghanistan's 34 provinces and is located in the northern part of the country.
