British Prime Minister Tony Blair Wednesday arrived in Kuwait at the start of a visit that will take him also to Iraq.

During the flight from London, Blair told reporters that he would visit British soldiers in Iraq during his trip. The visit would be to demonstrate "gratitude for our troops", he said.

The British leader repeated his belief that Iraq's weapons of mass destruction existed. Blair said he had "absolutely no doubt at all about the existence of weapons of mass destruction". He said it was important to wait "until we get the full report back from our people who are interviewing the Iraqi scientists".

Meanwhile, the Qatar-based Al Jazeera TV reported Wednesday that four American servicemen were killed after their helicopter gunned down in Iraq. Witnesses in the town of Hit, northwest of Baghdad, told Al Jazeera the helicopter crashed during clashes after Iraqi resistance fighters attacked a local police station.

On its part, the Pentagon said it had no information on any missing or crashed U.S. helicopter in Iraq, Reuters reported.
