Osama bin Laden, the main suspect in the September 11 attacks on the US, has vowed in his first appearance since then that the US and its citizens “will never dream of security unless the Palestinians live in true security,” and US and allied troops leave Saudi Arabia, his homeland.

In a speech broadcast exclusively on Al Jazeera satellite channel Sunday, recorded hours before the ongoing attacks on Afghanistan, bin Laden said that what the US has experienced of terror was a small percentage of what the Muslim nations had undergone for decades.

He cited the Israeli aggression against Palestinians and the million Iraqi children who have died under the UN embargo on Iraq as examples of injustice. Meanwhile, he bitterly assailed Muslim clerics and rulers who stood by the US in its “war against terrorism.”

Bin Laden did not say directly he was behind the Washington and New York attacks, but praised the suicide attackers as “a group of Muslim soldiers,” who fought on behalf of the oppressed in Palestine, and spread terror in the whole country, which he described as “the head of world blasphemy.” – Albawaba.com
