BenQ Middle East, the region’s leader in digital lifestyle products, aims to gain widespread exposure for a range of its products at GITEX, the region’s most important IT trade fair.
“Our key theme at GITEX is personalized enjoyment. Each of our products can be enjoyed by consumers in an individual way, and are designed to unleash the user’s full creativity,” said Manish Bakshi, general manager, BenQ Middle East and Africa.
BenQ is showcasing a range of multifunctional products. These will include the DW1625, a DVD writer which also scripts CDs with equal style and smoothness. The CM3000, a three-in-one scanner which allows users to scan, print and copy their most cherished images with picture-perfect clarity, will also feature strongly.
“To distinguish ourselves in our competitive marketplace, we need to design products which perform a variety of key functions, and facilitate the independent, mobile lifestyle of the Middle East. Our DVD writers and scanners are perfect in this respect, as they save our customers time and money, and emphasize the image of BenQ as a convenient, affordable brand,” said Bakshi.
BenQ will focus on consumer electronics products like LCD TVs and projectors and improve its market reach, frequency and penetration in the Middle East. It is the current No.4 producer of LCD monitors in the region and holds the No.2 position in the regional projector market, according to BNA and DTC research respectively. This year, BenQ will continue to build on its digital lifestyle range by launching new products in its award-winning range of LCD monitors, projectors and LCD TVs to its target audiences in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Iran and Egypt.
Its award winning product line-up includes LCD TVs ranging from 20 inch to 42 inches. The VA series of LCD models is aimed at consumers looking for high specifications with affordability, and is the perfect replacement for current users of CRT televisions. The elegant and simply designed models feature HDTV compatibility (1080i, 720p), 1200:1 contrast ratios, high-definition multimedia (HDMI) interface and an 8-millisecond response time - perfect for minimising ghosting effects in sports programs and gaming sessions.
“The global TV market is forecast to grow from an estimated US$ 25 billion in sales and 21 million units shipped in 2005 to US$ 85 billion and over 101 million units shipped in 2009,” said Manish Bakshi, general manager, BenQ Middle East and Africa.. “This represents a 183 per cent growth on shipment units and a 110 per cent growth in revenue. In 2009, for the first time, LCD televisions will outstrip sales of CRT TVs in the ratio of 53:47. In Middle East, we expect a 226 per cent growth – total units shipped will increase from 72,000 to 235,000 units by 2009. Saudi Arabia and the UAE will remain key markets.”
