Head of the 2006 World Cup Organizing Committee, Franz Beckenbauer, on Friday congratulated the Iranian national team members following their qualification for the 2006 World Cup in Germany.
According to <i>IRNA</I>, in his message to Iran's Football Federation president, Mohammad Daadkan, Beckenbauer recalled the "huge impression" made when the German national team played a friendly match against Iran in Tehran on October 9, 2004 to benefit the Bam earthquake victims.
