Seven Iranian policemen have been killed by bandits and nine were wounded in a gun battle on the Islamic Republic's southeastern borders, according to IRNA Sunday.
Haydarali Nouraee, governor of the southeastern city of Zahedan, told the official news agency that the policemen were ambushed as they were on their way to arrest Derasheh Bakhsh, a leading bandit leader who remains on the run.
