The first US plane bringing aid workers and medical material for rescue operations in the earthquake-hit Iranian town of Bam, a giant Hercules C-130, arrived on Sunday in Kerman, southeast Iran, the official news agency IRNA said.

Planes from Belgium, Saudi Arabia, China and Germany, carrying humanitarian aid have also arrived in Kerman airport.

Meanwhile, 11 foreign tourists were unearthed alive in the quake-hit city of Bam Sunday, IRIB said.

The tourists were retrived thanks to the sniffer dogs used by rescue teams to locate the victims trapped under the rubble. Five more tourists, including three German, a British woman and a Swiss national were transferred to a semi-private hospital in Tehran.

They are all in stable condition, according to an Iranian state TV live footage.
