Bahrain’s government announced on Sunday the formation of a special committee to improve the performance and efficiency of civil service, reported the Gulf News.

“A committee will be formed to develop each ministry’s service and prepare staff for a quality control system,” a statement by the cabinet said.

”A program of performance management for government departments will also be implemented,” it added.

The committee will be headed by head of the Civil Service Bureau Shaikh Daij bin Khalifa bin Mohammed Al Khalifa.

Meanwhile, an official told the daily that the month-long census which started on Saturday is “being carried out in a smooth way, thanks to the cooperation of the Bahraini people.”

A 1,537-strong army of workers and volunteers are involved in the project, which aims to provide information about every aspect of life in Bahrain, said the paper – Albawaba.com
