Bahrain and France hailed Friday their "excellent" political ties and growing economic relations during a visit by Bahrain’s emir to Paris, reported the Gulf Daily News.
Bahrain’s emir Sheikh Hamad Al Khalifa arrived in Paris Friday and held talks with his French counterpart Jacques Chirac.
Talks between the two leader also focused on the Middle East.
The leaders called for a de-escalation of Middle East violence backed by the Egyptian-Jordanian peace initiative, said the paper, quoting a statement.
The emir said in the statement that “the visit provided Bahrain with a good opportunity to discuss bilateral issues as well as a number of regional and international issues that are of mutual interest to the two friendly countries.”
"The visit complements earlier visits we have made to this friendly country and our meetings with President Chirac," the statement added – Albawaba.com
