The Bahraini cabinet on Monday gave the green light to the housing ministry to construct several housing projects worth $56 million, reported the Gulf Daily News.

The projects, the first phase of the housing and agriculture ministry's program for this year, will include the construction of 1,135 housing units.

The houses and flats will be built by 26 local construction firms, said the paper.

Maps are being prepared of the areas that are suitable for building, and construction work will begin once plans are drawn up and a budget is allocated, it added – Albawaba.com
