Bahrain’s emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Issa Al Khalifa, arrived Friday in Morocco for talks with King Mohammed, reported the Gulf Daily News.

The emir was greeted at Tangiers airport by the Moroccan monarch and Prince Rasheed in an arrival ceremony covered live by Moroccan TV, said the paper.

The emir gave an arrival statement expressing his pleasure at visiting Morocco. He congratulated King Mohammed on the second anniversary of his accession to the throne and also expressed the congratulations of Bahrain’s leadership and people to the people of Morocco, said the paper, citing a statement.

He said his visit reflected the long-standing ties linking the two countries and their keenness to boost these relations within the framework of the joint committee agreement signed in Rabat last year.

Later, the leaders met at the guest palace in Tangiers, and reviewed the “satisfactory development of bilateral cooperation between the two countries and also discussed Arab and international issues and matters of mutual concern,” said the statement – Albawaba.com
