ALBAWABA - Days after the Bondi Beach shooting, armed Australian police announced the detention of seven men in Sydney's southwest on Thursday.
According to the New South Wales state police, Australian authorities received a notice that the men may be plotting a "violent act" in the city. "At this point in time, police have not identified any connection to the current police investigation of the Bondi terror attack," the police said in a statement.
Police added that two cars were intercepted after alleged information "that a violent act was possibly being planned".
In a video that was posted on social media, one of the arrested suspects was seen bleeding from a gash on his head.
"As investigations continue, seven men are assisting police with their inquiries," police mentioned.
This comes days after two gunmen, Sajid Akram and his son Naveed, were accused of killing 15 people in a shooting attack targeting a Hanukkah celebration at Bondi Beach on Sunday evening.
