Australia arrests 2 after gun attack during Hanukkah celebration at Bondi Beach

ALBAWABA - One gunman was killed at the shooting scene, while the other suspect was injured and is being treated. The Jerusalem Post says that at least three people have been killed, with some reports saying up to 10 have lost their lives; however, the exact death toll is still unconfirmed.

Earlier, Australian police announced the arrest of two suspects following reports of multiple gunshots during a Hanukkah celebration on Sunday at Sydney's famed Bondi Beach.

"Police are responding to a developing incident at Bondi Beach and are urging the public to AVOID the area. Anyone at the scene should take shelter," New South Wales police revealed in a statement.

The Australian ambulance service said that eight people were hospitalized in the Bondi Beach shooting attack on Sunday. 

"We can just let you know that we have treated multiple people on the scene and at this stage taken eight people to different Sydney hospitals," AFP cited a spokesperson for the New South Wales ambulance service.

Initial reports said that multiple people were injured in a shooting at Sydney’s Bondi Beach during a celebration to mark the first night of Hanukkah.

Earlier, the police wrote on X, "Police are responding to a developing incident at Bondi Beach and are urging the public to avoid the area."

A video was posted on social media showing two gunmen opening fire at people at Bondi Beach in Australia. 

Another video was shared by an Instagram user, called Mike Orti, which displayed people running while a police siren was heard in accordance with gunfire.
