ALBAWABA - An audio was captured showing an Indian oil tanker pleading with the Iranian military to stop the attack on it in the Strait of Hormuz as Tehran reclosed the waterway, as talks reached a deadlock.
The audio was shared on social media, capturing the moment when one of the crew at the Indian vessel asked the Iranian forces to stop the fire, while the oil tanker was present at the Strait of Hormuz.
The New York Post reported that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) fired on at least two ships in the waters near Oman, shortly before declaring the closure of the Strait of Hormuz again.
Two Iranian military gunboats approached an Indian-flagged tanker at around 1 p.m. local time and opened fire unprovoked, the tanker's master reported, according to the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Organization (UKMTO)
A while after, another Indian-flagged container ship was hit by an "unknown projectile". The attack reportedly caused damage to some of the containers.
Iran announced the re-closure of the Strait of Hormuz in response to the U.S. naval blockade.
