Senior executives from ATI Technologies premiered the world’s foremost graphics demonstrations yesterday, marking the official regional launch of ATI’s Radeon® X1800 -- the fastest graphics processor on the planet.

Richard Huddy, ISV relations manager, ATI Technologies EMEA, showcased the highly-acclaimed ‘Toyshop’ demo and the ‘Assassin’ demo featuring ATI digital superstar Ruby for the first time in the Middle East, highlighting what is possible through the power of the X1800.

“The RADEON X1800 was designed to be the best and it is the best,” he said. “In terms of gaming performance, it is the fastest; in terms of image quality, it is the best looking; in terms of features, it is the richest.  We are excited to be introducing this product in the Middle East, a region that is constantly developing and embracing new technology,” said Huddy.

Toyshop’s detailed environment includes complex rain and water effects, physical simulation on the GPU, detailed brickwork and cobblestones and a realistic dynamic lighting environment, while ‘Assassin’ places Ruby in a large complex environment and uses high dynamic range lighting and dynamic soft shadows to set the mood.

“Both Toyshop and Assassin clearly demonstrate the phenomenal level of visual quality and special effects consumers can expect in 2006.  Competitive gamers and enthusiasts in the region seeking an unprecedented level of 3D performance and image quality needn’t look any further than the X1800,” added Huddy.

There was also a sneak preview of the Radeon X1800 in Crossfire mode, showcasing incredible gaming performance by adding a Radeon X1800 Crossfire Edition graphics card for ultra fast performance that works with all games, all the time.

"ATI is thrilled to officially launch the Radeon X1800 XT in the Middle East with these unbelievable demos,” added Rauf Baig, managing director, ATI Technologies Middle East operations "We've shipped thousands into retailers and e-tailers across the region, and gaming enthusiasts are getting geared up to enjoy the very best in visual quality, stability and next-generation performance."

The revolutionary Radeon X1800 XT architecture gives competitive gamers and enthusiasts top performance in the most demanding, shader-intensive environments, an efficient new memory design and Avivo technologies for visual perfection and advanced video playback.

Adding further weight to ATI’s claims, an independent team of Finnish over-clockers recently made world history by over-clocking the Radeon® X1800 XT graphics processor to engine clock levels above 1 GHz, far exceeding the specifications of the memory devices.
