Syria's President Bashar al-Assad and his Iranian peer Muhammad Khatami on Thursday evening held a meeting at al-Shaab ( people ) Palace in Damascus.
Present at the meeting were Vice President Abdulhalim Khaddam, Foreign Minister Farouk al-Shara and the Iranian official delegation accompanying Khatami.
