Syrian President Bashar Assad has issued a law setting aside two percent of all Syrian advertising revenues for a retirement fund for journalists, reported the Daily Star newspaper on Monday.
He also issued a new stamp, the proceeds of which will go to the teacher’s union and pensions program.
He also passed a law creating a Committee for Scientific Agricultural Research, aimed at conducting research and offering expertise to other institutes.
The committee will be chaired by Agriculture Minister Asaad Mustafa, and is charged with “laying out the general policy for all future agricultural activity.” – Albawaba.com
