Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on Sunday issued a decree for the year 2005 on combating money laundering and financing of terrorism, SANA news agency reported.
The decree stipulates the setting up of an independent commission at the Central Bank of Syria. The key task of the mission is to receive tips on suspected money laundering operations, the news agency added.
