Following weeks of tense relations, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on Wednesday made a telephone call with King Abdullah II of Jordan during which "they discussed the bilateral relations between the two sisterly countries," SANA reported.
"The preparatory works for the meeting of the Syrian-Jordanian Higher Joint Committee which is scheduled to meet in Damascus by the end of the month were also reviewed," the official report said.
Earlier this week, Amman has strongly denied reports about a "crisis" with Damascus. Jordan's government spokesman Nasser Joudeh told a weekly news conference "There is no crisis between Jordan and Syria."
Last month, Jordan hinted Syria was behind a Hamas cell, which planned attacks inside the Kingdom.
