Army experts Thursday defused a powerful bomb with a controlled explosion inside the grounds of the Indian parliament, hours after a dramatic assault on the building by half a dozen unidentified gunmen.
A defence ministry official confirmed the bomb found on the premises was detonated by the army's bomb disposal squad.
"It was a controlled detonation. The explosion was powerful," the ministry official told AFP, adding that the bomb had been brought into the complex by the gunmen.
"The explosives experts are still in the parliament building in case more such bombs are lying around," he added -- AFP
