ALBAWABA — Amid growing tensions between the United States, Israel, and Iran, former U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, well-known for her influence on U.S. foreign policy during the 2003 invasion of Iraq, was spotted this week entering the White House.

Rice reportedly arrived at the White House on Friday, garnering notice because the visit coincided with Washington's ongoing military operation against Iran alongside Israel, according to accounts quoted by American media. Rice was seen entering the presidential home, according to a White House correspondent who posted on social media, stoking rumors about possible talks about the current crisis.

Under President George W. Bush, Rice was the U.S. National Security Advisor from 2001 to 2005 and then the Secretary of State from 2005 to 2009. Some experts and media outlets have referred to her as one of the "architects" of the Iraq war since she was a key figure in determining the administration's Middle East strategy during that time and was one of the top officials who backed the invasion of Iraq.

She also made public statements expressing her support for robust U.S. action against Iran just before her arrival in Washington. Rice stated that undermining Iran's military might would be a justifiable goal for the US and its allies in an interview with Fox News. She said that it would be "a worthy goal" to stop Iran from launching military operations against the United States and its allies.

Following the start of the joint U.S.–Israeli military campaign against Iran in late February, which has resulted in retaliation attacks throughout the Middle East, the visit comes amid a wider regional escalation.

Officials have not officially acknowledged whether Rice conducted meetings particularly connected to the conflict, despite rumors that she was present at the White House. According to other stories, her visit might have been connected to a different policy debate in Washington concerning matters pertaining to collegiate athletics, a field in which she has continued to be involved since leaving government employment.

However, political observers and media analysts have taken notice of the return of a prominent character from the Iraq War to the White House amid another major battle in the Middle East.
