Arabtec secures Phase 2 Mirdiff Sewerage & Drainage Project

Dubai Municipality has recently awarded to Arabtec Construction’s Drainage Division a contract worth 126 Million Dirhams.

This new prestigious project will help the Mirdiff community to cope with its growing needs for sewerage and drainage network thereby ensuring a safe disposal of wastewater and its treatment. The Contract provides for connecting nearly 3000 residential plots in Mirdiff to the Sewerage collection network.  The scope of work also include providing surface water drainage network, house connections, inspection chambers, road crossings and connection of the new system to the existing system.  The existing sewerage system drains to Main Pumping Station “K”.

Over 230km of pipelines ranging in diameter from 160mm to 1000mm and nearly 8000 manholes and chambers will be constructed within the        2 years contract duration.  This is the largest network Contract ever awarded by Dubai Municipality.

This Contract, which commenced on 1st May 2005, is a part of Dubai Municipality’s five-year strategic plan with the objective of setting up Sewerage and storm water networks to cover all the urban areas of Dubai City.
