The Arab League’s Higher Committee will meet in Cairo at the end of May to discuss the joint Egyptian-Jordanian peace initiative aimed at quelling the escalating violence in the Palestinian territories, reported Egypt Online.
The committee, headed by Jordanian Foreign Minister Abdel-Ilah Khatib, will discuss the initiative, which has been backed by most of the Arab countries and the European Union.
Other topics to be discussed are “means to enforce the Arab summits' resolutions on setting up two funds for backing the Palestinian Intifada and protecting Jerusalem.”
In addition, the dispute between Iraq and Kuwait will be discussed, said the news service – Albawaba.com
