A brother and sister, both residents of the Arab village of Taibeh in Israel, are being held on suspicion of aiding the Hizbollah resistance movement, Israeli press reports said on Thursday.
The two, who face possible charges of assisting the enemy during war, contacting an enemy agent and collaborating to commit a crime, had their remand extended by five days Thursday by court officials. This is the fourth time the two have had their remand extended, said Haaretz.
The two pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The investigation has been conducted by the Shin Bet security service and the national unit for international crime investigations.
Some details of the case, which began in October, can still not be published due to a ban issued by the court, said the paper.
Akram Obeid, 40, is a department manager at the Bank Hapoalim branch in Taibeh. His sister Mona is a school principal in the town.
