Arab countries began a five-day meeting on their regional boycott of Israel on Sunday in Syria with plans to blacklist additional companies that do business with the Jewish state.

The eighteen attending members of the 22-nation Arab League were also expected to review the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and consider lifting sanctions against companies who have stopped dealing with Israel.

Arab League members Egypt, Jordan, Mauritania and Comoros did not participate in the meeting.

Ali Abdul-Huda, representing the Palestinians, said that economic and trade ties between all Arab countries, including those who have peace agreements with Israel, should be severed. (Albawaba.com)
