A Japanese expedition digging for antiquities north of the Egyptian city of Sagarah has found a painting that goes back to the era of King Thutmose, according to a statement by Egyptian Minister of Culture Farouk Hosni.

The secretary general of the Higher Council for Antiquities, Gaballah Ali Gaballah, said that the painting depicts King Thutmose standing with a blue crown, restraining an Asian prisoner of war with one hand and holding a dagger in the other.

“A line in hieroglyphic language is written on the painting,” said the head of the Giza archeology department, Zahi Hawwas, said in the statement - Albawaba.com
