According to <i>Petra</i>, the third day of the International Islamic Conference was held in Amman on Wednesday. During the day, Dean of the World Institute for Islamic thought and civilization in Malaysia, Dr. Mohamed Hashem Kamali presented a research on "Jihad". According to Mr. Kamali, Jihad is not meant to fighting and wars, but is first of all aims at serving the society. On his part, former German ambassador to Morocco Dr. Murad Hoffman noted that terrorism and extremism are alienated to Islam, backing this claim by a number of Quranic verses that discard extremism.
