The Middle East region’s largest packaging trade exhibition, Gulf Pack, set for 2-5 April next year in Dubai, has just unveiled a new look for its 2007 marketing programme. The development not only features new graphics and a highly creative new ad campaign, but also introduces new members for the marketing and sales team.
Dominic McGill, Regional Director of Fairs & Exhibitions Ltd, (F&E), organisers of Gulf Pack, said he was delighted to welcome Neil Manwaring to the team as Sales Director. Mainwaring has many years of exhibition sales experience and will be based out of F&E’s UK office, looking after international clients and their network of agents. In addition McGill said the Middle Eastern sales drive will be led by Bilal Mehri who joins the business as Regional Sales Manager. Previously Mehri acted as the co-ordinator of the UAE Printers’ Association and the UAE Packaging Association.
To complement the increased focus on sales, F&E also unveiled plans for Gulf Pack’s marketing communications programme. McGill said that “a stunning new image, new logo and a new visitor ad campaign were all ready to be released. Our new logo recognises the immense importance of our exhibitors from this part of the world featuring a new “Tugra” shape, whilst the campaign itself sets out to represent the huge variety of packaging solutions on offer at the show.”
Gulf Pack, now in its eighth edition, has gained international recognition as the most important packaging event in the area. Evidence of this can be seen in major repeat exhibitors such as Crown Emirates, Clear Pack MEA, Techno Middle East, Europack, Wolf Verpack and Termopak. along with the ongoing support provided by the World Packaging Association and the Asian Packaging Federation. The organisers predict that the show will be a sell out featuring more than 150 exhibitors from 26 countries.
In addition to the trade exhibition, Gulf Pack presents a series of seminars and workshops featuring the latest industry developments. Another important aspect of the event is the presentation of the third Packaging and Design Awards for Students, now dubbed the “Pandas”. This includes three exclusive categories for packaging and serves to underline the crucial role design plays in the packaging industry. Gulf Pack takes place at the Dubai Airport Expo on 2 – 5 April 2007.
