A comprehensive national survey on Algerian youth reveals that their number one concern is finding a good job according to the Monday November 29 edition of Afrik.com. In response, the Algerian minister of youth and sport, M. Ziari, said this survey gets rid of some misconceptions and strengthen some points of conventional wisdom.
The survey begun in 2003 and a total of 8,325 youth were interviewed. There was a total of 200 questions. Main findings include TV is the favourite youth pastime - 73%. Searching for a good job is the main ambition of 72%. A majority of youth said they wish to be politically active in some form. 5% claim to have joined a political movement.
