Algerian Health Minister, Mourad Redjimi on Sunday noted that "national health workers federation (FNTS) claims are legitimate but (their) strike which lasted more than one week is less legitimate." "I call, strikers, for wisdom and positive consultation," Redjimi told APS.
According to the minister, the legitimate demand by health workers’ “have been taken into account by the ministry, finalised in a text and transmitted to the ad hoc committee, which is working on modalities of their application".
Redjimi added that "strike is to meet some rules, including a minimum service and emergencies, stressing that these basic rules are not implemented everywhere, causing inconveniences to patients".
Considering this situation, Redjimi insisted on "more wisdom, but also on patience, due to compensation, which will be paid to health workers with retrospective effect.".
