Algeria’s trade union has rejected the three draft bills proposed by the privatization minister and affirms that it prefers the current texts, according to the trade union.
The union is also against the argument saying that the holdings failed in their mission of boosting the public companies' activity, Agence Algérienne d'Information (AAI) reported.
The union, according to AAI, believes that the problem is not in the texts but in the way funds are managed in addition to political instability and security problems.
The union's fears are about a program aiming at replacing the state economic action by foreign and private operators.
As far as the government is concerned, the current regulation is able to re-organize economy and offer the best conditions for high economic performance.
As for the draft bill the union believes that it is just a way to sell public companies out and this can not stand as a global economic and social development strategy, AAI said.
This opinion had already been voiced by the secretary general, Sidi Said, during the Companies' Cross Road forum.
"We are working for a social market economy," he said, adding that economy should be a means of production and wealth creation.
