Following a successful tour in Oran, the renowned Canadian pianist, Alain Lefèvre, returned to Algiers, where he performed Sunday evening in Ibn Zeydoun Theater. Speaking on his experience from his concert last Thursday in Oran, where he also instructed young Algerian musicians, Lefèvre said that he was "amazed and pleased to see that about ‘75% of his public had been less than 30 years old." The artist, according to Libere Algerie, said that he has never seen "something like that elsewhere in the world," and that "the usual audience of classical music in the Western countries is very old."
Alain Lefèvre, a nine-time prizewinner of Canada’s music contest in piano, and prizewinner of the higher national Academy of music of Paris, arrived in Algeria to take part in the instructions of young musicians in the country.
