Arab League Secretary General Amr Mousa has stressed the need to distinguish between terrorism and resistance in order to not mix between the two terms. In a statement to the Saudi Newspaper Okaz published Thursday, Mousa said that resisting the Israeli occupation is not considered as terrorism, pointing out that mixing between resistance and terrorism weakened credibility of war on terrorism.
Mousa asserted the need to separate between terrorism and Islam as saying that Islam is innocent of terrorism and "we cannot take Islam as a reference for any terrorist act."
Mousa also called the Arab countries to cooperate in preventing infiltration of terrorists and to watch the funds, airports and outlets, emphasizing that the Arab League opposes to sign any memo or agreement equalizing between resistance and terrorism.
He expressed the Arab League readiness to adopt a unified Arab vision to face terrorism, pointing out that the regular meeting of Arab Interior Ministers, which is scheduled to be held in Tunis is just the beginning of a unified vision against the danger of terrorism collectively.
