It’s time to dust off your walking boots and get them ready for the Gulf for Good Family Challenge – the first-ever family charity challenge in the U.A.E.

Ras Al Khaimah is the least explored destination in the U.A.E., but that will change on November 3rd and 4th.  Participants, both national and expatriate, will hike from Wadi Shaha up to a camp in an authentic Shihi mountain village on Jebel Jays on this two-day challenge, intended to be fun for all the family whilst raising money for the Special Care Centre for children in Abu Dhabi.

The scenic mountainous terrain of ‘R.A.K’, located at the northern extremity of the U.A.E.’s Gulf coast, makes it a perfect venue for this trekking challenge.  Gulf for Good adventures are usually reserved for people aged 18 years and above, but due to popular demand, this particular challenge has been rated at an easy fitness level in order to be able to include adventurous spirits as young as 8 years, as long as they’re with at least one parent.

Gulf for Good’s Chairman Brian Wilkie explained, “We wanted to stage a challenge that whole families could participate in.  We’re giving parents and their children the chance to do something positive together that they’ll remember for years to come. We think it’s important to let children know that they are able to do something constructive, that’s fun at the same time and will also actively influence the lives of some of their less fortunate peers.  No experience is necessary and free training sessions will be held.”

A major aim of Gulf for Good and the RAK Family Challenge is to bring together people of all backgrounds to push their own limits whilst raising money for a good cause.  If you have ever thought of doing something adventurous that will not only involve the entire family but will also help others, then Gulf for Good wants to hear from you.

Have you got what it takes?  If you are interested in the Family Challenge or finding out about Gulf for Good’s other ‘charity challenges’, please call +9714 368 0222 or visit www.gulf4good.org for more information.  Participant numbers will be limited.
