In a swift act of revenge to the Palestinian attack on the Hamra settlement, which killed Wednesday a woman and her 11-year-old disabled daughter as well as a soldier, Israeli helicopter gunships fired one rocket on a Palestinian Authority intelligence office Thursday evening in the West Bank city of Nablus. However, according to witnesses and security sources the rocket missed its target.

Meanwhile, the Palestinian Islamic Resistance movement Hamas claimed the Hamra attack. According to the movement’s statement, the attacker was identified as Ziyad Khalili (Abu Tareq) from Nablus.

Also Thursday, an Israeli settler was lightly wounded in a shooting attack near the West Bank settlement of Beit-El. A short while before this attack, shots were fired at an Israeli vehicle in the area. In addition, an explosive device went off near the Jerusalem neighborhood of Gilo. No injuries were reported.
