Acer, the leading notebook vendor in EMEA – Europe, Middle East and Africa (source: Gartner data, 1Q 2006), has today announced the Middle East launch of the Aspire 9510 notebook – Acer’s first in the region to come with a built-in High Definition (HD) DVD.
“Having identified the growing need and projected use of HD technologies, Acer is looking at the small or home office (SOHO) end user as the primary market for the first HD DVD notebook to be launched in the region,” says Graham Braum, Business Development Manager, Mobility and Cameras, Acer Computer Middle East.
In addition to its HD-DVD, the Aspire 9510 series also has the very latest multimedia features including TV-on-Notebook, excellent graphics capabilities, High Definition Audio, DVI-D and HDMI ports and Acer Video Conference solution with integrated Orbicam 1.3 megapixel Camera on top of the LCD panel.
“It is now recognised – worldwide – that HD technology is the next generation of first-class visual technology and Acer has again proved its commitment to provide the latest technology to the market, at the earliest possible opportunity,” added Braum.
“While HD Technology has yet to be realised in its fullest capacity, Acer’s product line, including LCD TVs and monitors as well as PC’s, will soon incorporate HD across our whole product offering. The Aspire 9510 is the first notebook in Acer’s offering to provide customers in the Middle East the opportunity to take advantage of the developing HD DVD products,” concluded Braum.
The Aspire 9510’s 17” wide Acer CrystalBrite display does not impact in its portability and weighing in at only 3.98kg, it is compact and light enough to be carried around. The Aspire 9510 portability capability is supported by an 8 cells Li-ion battery that can provide up to 3 hours of battery life.
