Acer Middle East today announced the regional launch of three new additions to its home and office LCD monitors, predicting that widescreen technology is set to become the norm in the region’s display sector.

A recent entrant into the LCD market, Acer has already seen itself climb to become one of the top three vendors in the display sector for the EMEA – Europe, Middle East and Africa region, as audited by Brian Norris for Q1 2006.

“The Middle East’s display sector is growing rapidly across both the consumer and corporate lines,” said Krishna Murthy, General Manager, Acer Computer Middle East.

“To have secured a top three position in the display sector is testament to our ability to provide high quality and high, widescreen performance at an excellent price,” added Murthy.

The three models launched today are the 22” AL2216W, 24” AL2423W and 26” AL2616W.

From freelancers or dedicated home-users to those for whom their job or industry increasingly depends on displays with the latest, high-performance-per-pixel technologies, the 22”, 24” and 26” models are set to invigorate the Middle East’s LCD display sector.

The 22 inch’s, 170° wide viewing angle display may have a slim compact design but is a large screen performer which will appeal to media professionals needing to multi-task and view multiple applications simultaneously.

The eye-catching 24”, available in either a titanium or black finish, has been designed for highly demanding office environments and so brings with it a reliable productivity and widescreen efficiency that makes for a sound, long-term investment for company purchases.

Meeting the corporate demand for larger screen formats from the likes of the engineering, architecture and advertising industries, with its higher resolution (1920x1200) and pixel per inch (94.1 PPI) performance for specialist applications, the 24” Widescreen delivers greater on screen precision allowing for increased productivity and efficiency.

The largest LCD display of Acer’s three new offerings is the 26” widescreen. With a wide viewing angle of 178° and unrivalled clarity, the monitor ensures comfortable reading of intensive amounts of data and high-definition colour – for multimedia applications.

“Both the home and office lines guarantee reliability and convenience while the simple set-up and adjustability controls make even the more sophisticated functions and display modes instantly accessible,” concluded Murthy.
